Today (Dec 24, 2015) was just such a beautiful day: Sunny and aprox 70 deg in DECEMBER, I just had to take a hike. Decided to try T.O. Fuller State Park for the first time and do the 4.5 mile Discovery Trail loop.
Since I had yet to walk my dog, "Bear", he came along for his first hike. Never hiked with him before, but I wanted to see how he would do. He did quite well other than picking up a deer tick (again I have to say "In December?) and having an issue with a bridge with the slats too far apart, he did great!
Took about 2 hours to do the hike. Didn't see much wildlife (other than birds), the trail was a bit slick since we had a storm the day before and the clay forming the trail. I could hear road noise from time to time, although the trail itself is wooded. Would I go again?...you bet. It is only 25 min from the house and it is good hiking!
Didn't get to the Chucalissa Museum, but I think I did see some of the earthworks (labled with UofM signs).
