Maybe cary less fuel. Good things 1) new duofold shirts much improved over '96 version. Dumped 96 shirt and bought a new one in Waynsboro 2) the Buff head covering (Waysboro) was a great purchase! 3) radio was good on night were camping alone or for a nice deversion. It was worth the minimal weight. Recomendations 1) Switch to a Hennesy Hammoc for next year. All the reviews by hikers were exceptional! 2) Try an alcohol stove next year to reduce weight. (find instructions on the internet!) 3) Experiment with Polar Pur + vitain C to replace filter (reduction of weight if it works) 4) Cary only pages needed of the thru hiker's handbook - reduce weight. (rip boot apart!)
